Dare Devil Dive1. Dare Devil Dive - Six Flags Over Georgia

The 'euro-fighter' coaster design has an amazing vertical drop from almost 100ft in the air. You are then plummeted to a slightly inverted drop at roughly 52mph! You then experience a number of loops, twist and turns with a zero gravity hill. This is one for the dedicated thrill seekers and being the 11th coaster at the park it has created a small competition between parks to have the most coasters.

Green Lantern Artwork2. Green Lantern - Six Flags Magic Mountain

"The Green Lantern" will bring Magic Mountain's coaster count to 18, allowing the Valencia amusement park to recapture the coaster crown, taken by Ohio’s Cedar Point in 2008 with 17 coasters.

The Green Lantern vertical coaster, with green zigzag track and black supports, will sit on a compact footprint near the Batman and Riddler’s Revenge coasters. The new-concept 4th dimension coaster, similar in style to X2, will reach a top speed of 37 mph over 825 feet of serpentine track during the two-minute ride.

Upon boarding a train that straddles the track, eight riders per car face in two directions, forward and backward. A chain lift carries each car up an inverted curved section to 107 feet in the air. From there, the suspended trains rock back and forth on the track and rotate head over heels as the cars plunge over freefall drops.

Windseeker Knotts Berry Farm3. Windseeker - Knotts Berry Farm

The 301-foot-tall WindSeeker promises to change Knott’s Berry Farm’s skyline when the spinning swing ride debuts at the Buena Park theme park in 2011. It will carry 64 riders in twin-seat gondolas to the top of the tower, where the ride’s metal arms will extend out at a 45-degree angle and spin for one minute at 30 mph.

The $5 million WindSeeker thrill ride replaces the venerable but aging Sky Cabin, a 225-foot-tall gyro observation tower built in 1976 and painted in patriotic red, white and blue. In recent years, the sedate observation deck has become better known for getting stuck in mid-ascent than for its commanding views. The WindSeeker tower will retain the Sky Cabin’s signature Knott’s “K” at the top of the ride.

Cheetah Hunt4. Cheetah Hunt - Busch Gardens Tampa

Rumoured to open in May time this year Cheetah Hunt boasts a 130ft tower, underground trench, with speeds of up to 60mph and 4Gs! Apart from this new thrill ride the park continues it's conservation work and will be introducing new animal enclosures and displays.

Designed to mimic a cheetah chasing its prey there has been a campaign to change the name from Cheetah Hunt to Cheetaka, however it was decided this was too difficult to say and did not describe the ride properly. With a capacity of 1,375 passengers an hour, the Cheetah Hunt will be a 31/2-minute experience with a 48-inch height minimum.

5. Mach Tower - Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Mäch Tower, the highest ride in Busch Gardens. It’s 245 feet of adrenaline-pulsing thrills with a view of the park and surrounding countryside you have to see to believe.

Riders are seated in a 30 person ring around the tower, which rotates as it makes its way to the top. Park officials promise several surprises when riders reach the top and an amazing view. Ultimately the main feature will be the the drop which will offer a 60 mph free-fall as the exclamation point for the ride.

Which thrill ride will you be visiting first in 2011?
