The Six Flags New England theme park is to add a 10th roller coaster to its collection.
"Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape from Arkham Asylum" is the seriously long name for the new ride. It's a steel, wild-mouse style coaster and is currently being installed in the DC Super Hero Adventures section of the park. Travelling aboard four person cars, riders attempt to escape from Arkham Asylum, home of Gotham City's criminally insane. It's set for launch in April this year.
The ride previously operated as "Road Runner Express" at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. This park closed in 2009.
Escape from Arkham Asylum, built by Maurer Söhne will have a ride time of 92 seconds and a maximum speed of 28mph (45kph) after a climb of almost 50ft (15m), followed by a race along 1,213ft (370m) of twisting track.
