Construction on Six Flags Great Adventure’s highly anticipated 2027 roller coaster has hit a major milestone, with the ride’s structure officially reaching a height of 315 feet.
Codenamed "Project Purple", the massive new attraction is now the tallest structure currently standing at the Jackson, New Jersey theme park. The colossal ride is already visible from miles away, dominating the local skyline as construction crews continue their work.
The theme park has confirmed that the roller coaster remains on track to become one of the tallest in the world. Visitors to the New Jersey destination this summer will be able to watch the structure grow on a weekly basis as it progresses toward its ultimate final height.
"Project Purple is already making a statement," said Ryan Eldredge, Director of Sales and Marketing at Six Flags Great Adventure. "At 315 feet tall and still climbing, guests can watch history being built in real time. Every new piece of track and support brings us one step closer to unveiling a coaster that will redefine thrills not just for Great Adventure, but for the entire industry."
Construction is scheduled to continue throughout the remainder of 2026, with Six Flags promising to announce additional milestones and specific ride details in the coming months.
The addition comes alongside other recent investments at the Northeast entertainment destination, which recently opened the nostalgic, seaside-inspired Shoreline Pier area for the 2026 season. Project Purple will eventually anchor a world-class ride lineup that already includes iconic coasters such as Nitro, El Toro, and the Jersey Devil Coaster.
