Fun Spot America has officially announced that its Atlanta theme park location will permanently close its gates later this summer, concluding nearly a decade of operations in the region.

The final day of operation for the Fayetteville park is scheduled for Sunday, 2 August 2026. Until that date, normal daily park operations will continue from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm, giving families and enthusiasts one final month to experience the park's collection of rides and attractions.

According to an official statement released by the company, the closure marks the end of a significant chapter for the family-owned amusement chain. Fun Spot America expanded into the Georgia market with high ambitions, but leadership noted that the decision to shutter the park was exceptionally challenging.

"This was an extremely difficult decision," said John Arie Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Fun Spot America. "Our Atlanta team has poured their hearts into serving our guests and creating a place where families could have fun together. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and for the support we have received from the Fayetteville community."

Information for Passholders and Ticket Holders

Fun Spot America has confirmed that all active Season Passes and gift cards will remain fully valid at the Atlanta destination up until the final closing date on 2 August 2026.

For consumers worried about unused balances or passes after the closure, the company has announced that all Atlanta season passes and gift cards will continue to be honoured at Fun Spot America's remaining flagship locations in Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida.

Management has indicated that additional details regarding pre-booked group events, school field trips, and other outstanding reservations will be directly communicated to affected guests over the coming weeks.

Florida Operations Unaffected

While the Atlanta property prepares to close down, Fun Spot America's core Florida locations will continue normal operations. The company first opened its doors on 24 December 1997 as a compact five-acre family attraction in Orlando, Florida. Over nearly three decades, it has expanded significantly to encompass more than 150 acres of family entertainment across its sites.

The prominent Florida destinations remain highly successful pillars of the brand. The flagship Orlando park currently boasts 33 individual attractions, including White Lightning, which is famous for being Orlando's only wooden roller coaster. Meanwhile, the nearby Kissimmee location features 29 major attractions, highlighted by the world's tallest SkyCoaster and Mine Blower, Florida's sole wooden roller coaster to feature a full 360-degree barrel roll inversion.

The corporate leadership expressed great pride in the memories created during their time in Georgia and extended heartfelt thanks to every guest and employee who participated in the park's journey.
