Universal Destinations & Experiences has officially announced that Universal Kids Resort, its first-ever regional theme park designed specifically for families with young children, will open its gates on 1 July 2026.

Located in Frisco, Texas, the highly anticipated 20-acre development marks a major strategic shift for the company, bringing its renowned entertainment and theme park expertise to a brand-new generation via kid-sized thrills.

To coincide with the opening date announcement, Universal has launched ticket sales, on-site hotel holiday packages, and the park’s first annual pass option.

Seven Immersive Lands Revealed

The new park features seven uniquely themed lands celebrating beloved characters from major family franchises. Visitors will be able to explore:

  • DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp
  • Jurassic World Adventure Camp
  • Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom
  • Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club
  • DreamWorks’ TrollsFest
  • DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar
  • The Isle of Curiosity (featuring DreamWorks' Gabby’s Dollhouse)

The Universal Kids Resort Hotel

Families looking to extend their stay can book a room at the new on-site Universal Kids Resort Hotel, situated directly at the park entrance. The vibrant 300-room property features family suites, an outdoor pool, and child-friendly dining options tailored to younger tastes.

Bookings are available for stays starting 30 June 2026. Room options include Standard, Deluxe, and Signature Queen rooms that can accommodate up to five guests, alongside spacious Family Suites designed to sleep up to six people.

Ticket Options and Holiday Packages Now On Sale

Universal has launched several entry options for the Texas park, which are now live on their official website:

  • General Admission: 1-Day and 2-Day ticket options.
  • Silver Annual Pass: Provides 12 months of access to the park, subject to blockout dates. Options that include parking are also available.
  • "Create Your Own" Package: A customisable holiday bundle that combines flights and hotel accommodation with park tickets, including a unique "1.5-Day" admission ticket.

Guests booking the hotel packages will receive exclusive theme park perks, including Early Park Admission, resort-wide charging privileges, and complimentary delivery of merchandise purchased inside the park back to their hotel room.
