SeaWorld Orlando has officially opened its highly anticipated new attraction, Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice, launching the state-of-the-art simulator ride exclusively for SeaWorld Orlando Pass Members this past weekend, ahead of its grand debut to the general public.

The brand new, story-driven attraction takes families on a visually stunning mission through the extreme natural forces that shape the Arctic environment. Blending high-definition cinematography with a sophisticated ride system, the experience mimics the sensation of soaring above erupting volcanoes, gliding over massive glaciers, and diving deep beneath icy waters.

Along the journey, riders come face-to-face with virtual representations of iconic Arctic wildlife, including beluga whales, sperm whales, seals, and polar bears.

The adventure begins the moment guests step inside the newly transformed Arctic research outpost. Complete with realistic themed environments and mission control rooms, the queue line sets the stage with a pre-launch briefing from a research scientist, fully preparing guests for the ultimate expedition ahead.

Justin Newton, Senior Vice President of Project Delivery for United Parks & Resorts, said:

"Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice is one of the most ambitious and immersive attractions we have ever created. From the moment guests step inside the Arctic research station, every detail has been designed to fully transport them into this frozen world and leave them questioning how it was even possible."

In keeping with SeaWorld’s core focus on conservation, the attraction aims to combine high-energy family thrills with an inspiring message about the natural world, encouraging visitors to appreciate and protect the fragile Arctic ecosystem and the animals that call it home.

The launch of Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice kickstarts a packed summer season for the Florida theme park. This includes the return of the popular Electric Ocean event on June 12, which will feature nighttime spectaculars, family dance parties, and a brand new drone and fireworks show.
