Crank the volume and warm up those air guitars because the legendary Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has officially roared back to life with a brand new, rock-charged remix.
Launching on 26 May, the reimagined fan-favourite attraction drops guests straight into the middle of the most buzzworthy concert Hollywood has ever seen, headlined by none other than The Electric Mayhem.
The updated attraction features high-speed launch thrills, a pulse-pounding new soundtrack, a fresh merchandise collection, and an updated food and beverage lineup in the courtyard. The experience has also been populated with a star-studded list of celebrity cameos hidden throughout the queue line and gift shop.
A Courtyard of Mayhem and New Management at G-Force Records
The transformation begins before visitors even enter the building. Out in the attraction courtyard, the iconic ruby-red guitar marquee has been given a vibrant, psychedelic new look inspired by the classic Muppet car paint job. Look closely at the piano motif at the base, and you will spot a golden key as a subtle nod to the band's legendary leader, Dr. Teeth.
Stepping inside G-Force Records, guests will notice the legendary recording studio has come under colourful new management. The label has landed its new digs with help from Scooter’s uncle, the famous real-estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse, making a clever connection to the studio's "G" moniker.
State-of-the-Art Animatronics and Muppet Labs Technology
During the VIP tour of the studio, guests find Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips cranking out their familiar tune Can You Picture That? as they rehearse for their big show. This scene showcases a major technological milestone for Walt Disney Imagineering: the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter.
Built using motion-capture technology of the actual Muppet, the cutting-edge figure moves, looks, and emotes perfectly. Backed by a team of audio engineers who happen to be penguins, Scooter tries his best to get the band to stop jamming and head out to their restless fans. To help get the musicians across town in time, guests are directed to the alleyway behind Studio C to board a super-powered vehicle developed by Muppet Labs, known as the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.).

A Remixed, High-Adrenaline Set List
The Electric Mayhem has teamed up with some of the biggest names in music to lock in a brand new, high-octane set list that plays during the roller coaster's high-speed inversions. The musical tracks include:
- Song 2 – The Electric Mayhem
- Born To Be Wild – The Electric Mayhem featuring Camilla the Chicken
- Love Rollercoaster – The Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson & Questlove
- Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) – The Electric Mayhem featuring Def Leppard
- Walking on Sunshine – The Electric Mayhem featuring Kelly Clarkson
Each song injects its own distinct tempo and energy into the ride, sending guests from zero to sixty miles per hour in a matter of seconds. Disney has also teased that the band has been working on a few surprise bonus tracks for riders to discover.
Concert Merch and Courtyard Dining
The experience continues past the final brake run with updated Disney PhotoPass ride photos that superimpose guests right onto the stage with the band. Riders exit into the "Rock Around the Shop" store, which is stocking an all-new collection of concert-inspired apparel, accessories, and rock-themed souvenirs.
Just steps from the ride exit, the courtyard dining options have received a Swedish twist. The location has reopened as "FØØD by Swedish Chef", presenting a refreshed exterior design alongside an updated menu of themed snacks and drinks to fuel families after their rock-and-roll adventure.
With the grand opening set for 26 May, the L.I.M.O. engines are officially revving. In addition to the public opening, Disney has confirmed that special preview opportunities will be lined up for Cast Members, eligible Disney Vacation Club Members, and Annual Passholders.
