Six Flags Fiesta Texas has officially unveiled Werewolf Gorge, a highly anticipated family launch roller coaster set to debut during the park’s 35th anniversary season in 2027.

The new attraction promises to deliver an immersive multi-generational experience, combining rich storytelling with a dynamic layout that sets a major new benchmark for family thrill rides.

Manufactured by Vekoma, Werewolf Gorge will become the longest roller coaster in the history of the San Antonio park.

Stretching across 4,120 feet of track, the ride will feature four launches, a mid-course rollback, and top speeds of up to 45 mph. With an accessible 39-inch height requirement, the attraction is designed to appeal to a broad range of visitors whilst still delivering genuine high-energy excitement.

The two-minute and 36-second adventure boasts 32 floater airtime moments, alongside a 40-foot drop and an 85-foot elevation change that integrates directly into the terrain.

"This is a defining addition to Six Flags Fiesta Texas," said Robert Bustle, park manager at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. "Werewolf Gorge brings together storytelling, innovation and a bold combination of ride elements that truly sets it apart. It delivers an experience that is approachable for families, yet unmatched anywhere in the world."

The storyline for the attraction places guests inside a mysterious Texas quarry, playing into the park's actual limestone quarry backdrop. Passengers board a rugged mining train for a guided tour that quickly escalates into a high-speed escape from a centuries-old werewolf curse. The terrain-driven layout includes near-miss encounters with towering werewolf figures, dense pine groves, and a finale inside a crumbling quarry structure complete with special effects.

The themed environment extends well into the queue line, which is styled as part of a roadside attraction owned by a fictional eccentric entrepreneur named Jasper Bunyan. Before boarding, guests will walk through interactive exhibits such as the Museum of Cryptids and the Werewolf Museum.

The official announcement took place during a special evening presentation on May 30, intentionally timed to coincide with a blue full moon to match the supernatural theme of the ride. The event concluded with a choreographed drone display overhead forming the logo of the new coaster.

Werewolf Gorge is scheduled to open in 2027.
