Six Flags Over Texas is preparing to rewrite roller coaster history with plans for Tormenta Rampaging Run, a jaw-dropping new attraction set to open in 2026.

This groundbreaking ride will not only introduce a brand-new coaster category but also smash six world records, making it the tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster ever built—and the first giga dive coaster on the planet.

The debut of Tormenta Rampaging Run will coincide with Six Flags Over Texas’ 65th anniversary in 2026. The park, which opened in 1961 as the very first Six Flags park, plans to mark the occasion with exclusive previews, events and giveaways.

A New Standard for Thrills

Standing at an astonishing 309 feet, Tormenta Rampaging Run will send riders plummeting down a record-breaking 95-degree drop—steeper than vertical—reaching a top speed of 87 mph as it races across a 4,199-foot-long course. Along the way, thrill-seekers will conquer the tallest vertical loop in the world (179 feet) and experience the highest Immelmann inversion ever built (218 feet), ensuring a ride experience that blends towering height with heart-pounding intensity.

“This coaster is a true testament to our commitment to world-class thrills and innovation,” said Mark Boyer, Vice President and Park Manager of Six Flags Over Texas. “With Tormenta Rampaging Run, we’re soaring to new heights—literally—and creating an unforgettable adventure for our guests.”

Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), the Swiss coaster manufacturer, designed the new attraction. Sophie Bolliger, President of B&M, called the project a “completely new ride category,” combining the massive scale of a giga coaster with the dramatic drops of a dive coaster.

A Spanish Fiesta of Sights and Flavors

The new dive coaster will anchor a Spain-themed expansion called Rancho de la Tormenta, an immersive village filled with vibrant colors, festive music, and rich storytelling. Inspired by the legendary running of the bulls, the attraction pays tribute to the tale of a mythical bull named Tormenta, known for his unmatched speed and ferocity.

Plus, guests can also look forward to Cocina Abuela, a brand-new restaurant offering bold, scratch-made Spanish and Latin-inspired dishes such as papas bravas, chicken tinga, Spanish rice, and fresh house-made guacamole—a step forward for Six Flags’ evolving food lineup.
