Lagoon Amusement Park in Utah has announced an all-new attraction for the 2026 season: Nutcracker, a towering Screamin’ Swing thrill ride that will send guests soaring to heights of 135 feet and speeds of up to 68 mph.

The new thrill ride will rank among the tallest and fastest swing rides in North America, representing one of the park’s most ambitious projects to date.

To bring Nutcracker to life, Lagoon has once again teamed up with S&S Worldwide, the Utah-based amusement engineering company behind the park’s acclaimed Rocket tower ride.

This major capital investment marks Lagoon’s first new attraction since the debut of Primordial in 2023, signaling a continued commitment to expanding and diversifying its ride portfolio as the park evolves to meet the expectations of modern thrill-seekers.

Big D Construction will oversee structural engineering and foundation work, while 3dxScenic — known for their large-scale themed design — will craft an impressive 50-foot-tall Nutcracker statue that will serve as the ride’s grand entryway.

With a throughput of up to 1,200 riders per hour, Nutcracker combines cutting-edge performance with operational efficiency. Lagoon’s latest addition will join the park’s collection of 55 rides, strengthening its lineup of high-intensity attractions and offering a new centerpiece for thrill-seekers.

Celebrating its 139th year, Lagoon continues to hold a unique place as Utah’s only major amusement park and a cornerstone of regional tourism. Nutcracker supports the park’s long-term strategy to expand its audience, deepening engagement among families, teens, and coaster enthusiasts alike.
