Disneyland Resort has announced the dates and details for its highly anticipated Halloween and Fall celebrations for 2026.

Visitors to the California resort will be treated to a jam packed season of spooky spectacles and rich cultural traditions, with Halloween Time, Plaza de la Familia, and the Oogie Boogie Bash all making a welcome return.

The seasonal magic kicks off earlier than ever on 21 August 2026, offering all resort guests a massive window to experience the limited time entertainment, seasonal merchandise and unique food and beverage offerings across both theme parks and the resort hotels.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort (21 August to 31 October)

Running from late August through to Halloween night, the entire resort will undergo a frightfully fun transformation. Guests stepping onto Main Street, U.S.A. will be greeted by the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin, whilst beloved Disney characters debut brand new Halloween costumes in Town Square. This year, Mickey, Minnie, and their pals are rocking a look inspired by harlequin motifs, featuring swirling confection details in a classic palette of orange, yellow, and black.

Entertainment highlights for the season include:

  • Mickey’s Trick and Treat: The popular daytime show returns to delight younger families at Disney California Adventure.
  • Halloween Screams: A spellbinding nighttime spectacular featuring fireworks on select evenings at Disneyland Park.
  • World of Color – ONE: Returning for a limited time starting 10 August and continuing through the Halloween season to celebrate 100 years of Disney storytelling.

Fans of summer entertainment will also get a final chance to catch the Paint the Night parade and Wondrous Journeys, which will run for a brief crossover period between 10 August and 20 August 2026.

Thrill seekers can look forward to the return of classic attraction overlays. Over at Disney California Adventure, Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark are all set to return. Meanwhile, Disneyland Park will once again host Haunted Mansion Holiday, completely rethemed to the whims of Jack Skellington and the characters from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Beyond the parks, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit map activity returns to the Downtown Disney District, alongside outdoor movie nights and live music on the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage. The resort hotels are also getting in on the fun, with Pixar Place Hotel debuting brand new decor inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., and the Disneyland Hotel adding Haunted Mansion inspired touches to its halls.

Honoring Día de los Muertos at Plaza de la Familia (21 August to 2 November)

Celebrating the everlasting bonds of family, Plaza de la Familia returns to Disney California Adventure to honour the Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos.

The heart of the celebration is the returning street show, "The Storytellers of the Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!", where a lively troupe of storytellers performs timeless tunes from the Pixar film alongside classic Mexican songs. Guests can also enjoy live mariachi performances at the Paradise Garden Bandstand, share memories of loved ones on the interactive memory wall, and tuck into Mexican cuisine at Paradise Garden Grill, including the popular chilaquiles carnitas torta.

Over at Disneyland Park, Frontierland will also pay tribute to the holiday with a vibrant installation near Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, complete with marigolds and traditional skeleton figurines known as catrinas and calacas.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

The legendary, separately ticketed after hours event is back at Disney California Adventure on select nights from 18 August to 31 October 2026. This year promises more nights than ever before, giving fans plenty of opportunities to experience rare villain meet and greets and immersive treat trails.

A major addition for the 2026 season is the brand new street party: Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party. This high energy show promises a ghoulishly good time filled with show stopping performance moments hosted by the iconic medium herself. Guests can also watch out for Ichabod Crane as he frantically avoids the Headless Horseman riding through the park.

Standard event tickets include pre party park entry, shorter queue times for select rides, and unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads. For an upgraded experience, guests can book the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party for a premium selection of themed treats and preferred seating for the new Madame Leota street party.
