IB Parks & Entertainment has announced that it will take over operations of Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park starting with the 2026 season, marking a new chapter for one of the oldest continuously operating theme parks in the United States.

Located in Rossville, Georgia, just south of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Lake Winnepesaukah—commonly known as Lake Winnie—has been a long-standing regional family destination for generations. The new long-term operating agreement is designed to provide additional operational support while preserving the park’s historic character and community ties.

According to IB Parks & Entertainment owner and CEO Gene Staples, the company’s focus will be on continuity rather than change. Guests should expect the same familiar attractions, atmosphere, and commitment to family-friendly entertainment that have defined Lake Winnie for decades.

For visitors, the transition is expected to be seamless. All 2026 season passes will remain valid, with no changes to pricing, benefits, or perks. The park’s operating calendar, opening day plans, and overall guest experience are also expected to remain unchanged.

Lake Winnepesaukah director Tennyson Dickinson, the great-granddaughter of founders Carl and Minette Dixon, emphasized the importance of preserving the park’s legacy. She noted that Lake Winnie has welcomed families for more than a century and expressed confidence that the park’s tradition of creating family memories will continue well into the future.

The 2026 season will also mark a significant milestone, coinciding with the 110th anniversary of Lake Winnie’s Antique Carousel, one of the park’s most recognizable and beloved attractions.

IB Parks & Entertainment is a Chicago-based amusement park operator with a growing portfolio of classic amusement and water parks across the United States. The company is known for emphasizing nostalgia-driven experiences while maintaining the individual identity of each park it operates.

Additional details about the 2026 season are expected to be announced at a later date.
