From coast to coast, major resorts are transforming their summer line-ups with patriotic drone spectacles, limited-edition treats, and massive entertainment overlays.

Disney Parks: Coast-to-Coast Celebrations and a Brand-New Flight
Disney is marking the historic milestone across both its American resorts, blending classic patriotism with a thrilling fan-favourite attraction update.
Soarin’ Across America
In a spectacular limited-time event, guests at Disney California Adventure and EPCOT can experience an all-new airborne adventure onboard Soarin’ Across America. This updated flight simulation takes passengers on a breathtaking journey over iconic US landscapes, complete with its famous 180-degree IMAX projection, majestic musical score, and specially curated scents celebrating the heart of the nation.
Disney Celebrates America
Beyond the skies, both resorts are rolling out the red, white, and blue:
- Disneyland Resort: Main Street, U.S.A. and Buena Vista Street will feature stunning seasonal décor, limited-time entertainment, and moving flag retreat ceremonies dedicated to honouring veterans.
- Walt Disney World Resort: EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth will feature vibrant patriotic light packages, alongside moving performances by the Voices of Liberty. Main Street, U.S.A. will be decked out in historic finery, featuring themed food, beverages, and exclusive merchandise.
Universal Studios Hollywood: A Star-Spangled July
Over in California, Universal Studios Hollywood is concentrating its celebrations into an explosive July event. From 3 to 4 July, the park is hosting its star-spangled 4th of July Celebration, which is completely included with standard theme park admission.
Guests can look forward to a brand-new, dazzling fireworks display, live fife and drum performances, patriotic theme park decorations, and unique character encounters alongside Universal's signature movie-themed thrills.
Hersheypark: The Ultimate Patriotic Summer
Pennsylvania’s Hersheypark is going big for the 250th anniversary, overlaying the 121-acre park with festive spirit all summer long.
- Patriotic Coasters: Classic rides are receiving a red, white, and blue makeover, including the Star-Spangled Laff Trakk, whilst the Ferris Wheel, Lightning Racer, and Twizzlers Twisted Gravity will feature custom light displays that illuminate the Pennsylvania skyline.
- Sweet Land of Liberty: Running from late May through to Labor Day, the Chevrolet Music Box Theatre will host Sweet Land of Liberty: A Celebration of the American Songbook, a high-energy musical journey through Rock, Pop, Country, and Soul.
- Character Meets & Sweet Treats: Life-sized Hershey Characters like Hersh and Reese will don special patriotic costumes. Additionally, the park is serving up festive delicacies like the new Star-Spangled King Size Shake, Apple Pie Donuts, and a Stars & Stripes Martini Flight.
- Extended Fireworks: Exceptional firework displays presented by HERSHEY'S will light up the park on select dates across May, July, and August.
Six Flags: Historic Tributes and Coaster Revolutions
Following the historic merger of Six Flags and Cedar Fair, parks across the country are rolling out unique experiences, including a brilliant nod to coaster history.
- Six Flags Magic Mountain: In honour of America’s 250th birthday and the ride's 50th anniversary, the park is officially restoring the name of the world's first modern looping coaster to its original moniker: The Great American Revolution.
- Cedar Point: The Ohio park is hosting its Star-Spangled Celebration until 4 July, featuring live entertainment, skydiver demonstrations, stilt walkers, and an incredible 4th of July fireworks display.
- Nationwide Festivities: Across many other Six Flags locations, guests can expect immersive décor, limited-time food offerings, guest-participation events, and patriotic lighting on historic thrill rides.
Dollywood and Silver Dollar City: Mountain Traditions Meet Modern Spectacles
The heartland parks are bringing their signature charm to the 250th celebrations with spectacular night-time events.
- Dollywood: The Tennessee park is upgrading its Sweet Summer Nights event. Every evening kicks off with a high-energy dance party before a massive drone and fireworks show takes to the skies. Accompanied by a star-spangled Americana playlist (featuring music by Dolly Parton herself), the drones will create brand-new patriotic shapes, including a flying bald eagle and a waving American flag.
- Silver Dollar City: The Branson, Missouri staple is saluting the nation’s milestone with its very own Summer Celebration, blending star-spangled entertainment with special seasonal savings for visiting families.
Busch Gardens and SeaWorld: Military Salutes and Family Fun
Both SeaWorld and Busch Gardens theme parks are pairing their anniversary celebrations with a deep appreciation for the US Armed Forces.
- Busch Gardens Tampa Bay: Offering patriotic merchandise and commemorative souvenirs, Americana-inspired food, summer treats, and festive culinary offerings, and Wild Skies Drone & Fireworks Show lighting up the night sky with a patriotic theme and a finale filled with fireworks.
