SeaWorld San Antonio is set to light up the Texas sky this summer with its premier nighttime event, Electric Ocean.

Highlighting the season's festivities is the debut of the park's first-ever drone spectacle, the SeaWorld Illuminight Drone Finale, which officially launches on Friday, 22 May 2026.

A Symphony of Light and Marine Life

The new drone show features a fleet of 400 synchronized drones choreographed to a soaring soundtrack. These high-tech units will transform the night sky into a canvas of light, creating massive aerial animations of marine animals.

Guests can expect to see vibrant depictions of:

  • A majestic orca
  • Beluga whales and dolphins
  • Sharks, jellyfish, and tropical fish

The performance concludes with an electric neon finale designed to celebrate ocean stewardship and hope. The drone show is scheduled to run Friday through Sunday nights from 22 May until 9 August 2026.

Nighttime Entertainment and Animal Presentations

Beyond the drones, Electric Ocean brings back a full roster of high-energy entertainment and animal experiences starting 22 May:

  • Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up the Night: A festival-style presentation featuring killer whales, vibrant lighting, and high-energy choreography.
  • Sea Lions Tonite!: A fast-paced comedy show where the park’s sea lions take center stage with new surprises.
  • Hydropower: Xtreme FX: Returning by popular demand on 12 June, this award-winning waterski stunt show blends lasers, pyrotechnics, and live music.
  • RhythMotion Ocean Parade: An immersive procession featuring whimsical characters, dancers, and colorful floats winding through the park.

New Thrills for 2026

Daytime visitors can also experience the park's newest attraction, Barracuda Strike. Billed as the tallest inverted family coaster in North America, the ride offers a high-speed experience inspired by the ocean's most agile predator, designed to be accessible for both thrill-seekers and families.

"We are ready to deliver one of our best summers ever as we bring unique, high-energy experiences that extend the fun well into the night," said Jeff Davis, SeaWorld San Antonio President.
