SeaWorld San Diego is set to transform the California skyline this season with the debut of Ocean of Dreams, an impressive new nightly drone show.
Launching on Friday, 22 May, the production marks a significant shift in the park's evening entertainment, utilising 600 fully synchronised drones to tell a story of marine life and ocean conservation.
A Living Ocean in the Sky
The 12-minute immersive experience is designed to take guests on a visual journey beneath the waves. Through intricate aerial formations and vibrant lighting, the drones will depict several of the ocean's most iconic inhabitants, including dolphins, sea otters, sharks, and a majestic orca.
The show concludes with a neon finale intended to inspire hope and ocean stewardship. According to Tyler Carter, SeaWorld Park President, the park is currently the only attraction in California to offer a nightly drone show for the local community and tourists to enjoy.
Summer Schedule and Availability
Visitors can catch the performance every night from 22 May through 9 August. Following this period, the show will move to a weekend-only schedule until 7 September, concluding with the end of the summer season.
More to Explore: The Summer Spectacular
The drone display is just one component of the broader Summer Spectacular lineup at the park. Other highlights for the 2026 season include:
- Shark Encounter: A brand-new exhibit also opening on 22 May, providing an up-close look at apex predators.
- Summer Concert Series: Featuring R&B and hip hop artists from the 1990s and early 2000s on select Saturdays.
- Nighttime Favourites: The return of the popular "Sea Lions Tonite" show and extended hours for the park’s collection of award-winning rides.
With a mix of high-tech entertainment and classic animal presentations, SeaWorld San Diego aims to provide a comprehensive day-to-night experience for families and theme park enthusiasts throughout the summer months.
