Disneyland was opened to the public on July 18, 1955.
Disneyland has a larger cumulative attendance than any other theme park in the world, with close to 600 million guests since July 18, 1955. Approximately 16 million people visit the park each year, making it the second most visited park in the world.
Disneyland now has eight themed areas or "lands" that host various shops, restaurants, live entertainment, and attractions.
