Families supported by Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times enjoyed a memorable day out at LEGOLAND California Resort during the opening weekend of its annual Brick or Treat event.

More than 200 invited guests joined this special celebration, which was organised in partnership with Merlin’s Magic Wand, the official children’s charity of Merlin Entertainments.

A Magical Day Out for Families

Held in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the initiative gave children impacted by cancer, along with their parents and siblings, the chance to step away from medical treatments and hospital schedules. The guests experienced the resort's seasonal festivities, including the debut of Brick or Treat Street, an immersive walkthrough featuring six life-sized LEGO monster homes with interactive effects and treats.

Spooky Seasonal Attractions

Families also explored the Halloween-themed updates to popular rides such as The Dragon and Galacticoaster, alongside character meet and greets, live entertainment, and the seventeen-foot LEGO Halloween Tree.

Ronald McDonald House Southern California provides vital support to many families with critically ill children, helping them remain close to necessary medical care. Its Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times program offers free, medically supported experiences that enable children and their siblings to build confidence and connect with others facing similar circumstances.

Celebrating Together

Among those attending were eleven-year-old Daniel, who is now cancer-free, and his nine-year-old sister Esme. Having grown up within the Camp community, the siblings spent the weekend enjoying the seasonal attractions and Halloween festivities together.

Merlin's Magic Wand said that it provides magical days out for children facing illness, disability or adversity across the globe, and anyone wishing to support Ronald McDonald House Southern California can round up their change at their participating McDonald's restaurants.
