Universal Destinations & Experiences has officially opened Universal Kids Resort in Texas, bringing a brand-new style of family entertainment to the region.
Situated in Frisco, this marks the company’s first-ever regional theme park specifically designed for younger children aged between three and eight years old.
The highly anticipated grand opening was celebrated in true child-centric fashion. Hosted by Laila Lockhart Kraner, star of DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse, the event commenced with a unique performance of the Universal theme song.
The festivities continued with a high-energy processional featuring hundreds of local children alongside many fan-favourite characters. The parade made its way to the Isle of Curiosity, showcasing choreographed dance numbers inspired by the park’s IPs. The grand opening culminated in a colourful countdown, daytime pyrotechnics, a storm of confetti, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony completed with an oversized pair of children's scissors.
Page Thompson, President of New Ventures at Universal Destinations & Experiences:
"Today’s an exciting day for all kidkind as we officially open Universal Kids Resort. Every aspect of this park was designed with kids in mind, and it’s amazing to see the smiles on their faces as they enjoy all that Universal Kids Resort has to offer."
Molly Murphy, President of Universal Creative:
"Universal Kids Resort offers a completely unique experience to what we have at our other destinations, introducing a younger generation to Universal fun crafted just for them. We set out to develop a park that invites kids to splash, play, dance and laugh with some of their favourite characters."
