Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the world’s largest regional theme park company, have announced that it will introduce another exciting array of thrill and family rides, spectacular stage shows, and extreme water slides in 2013 across its 19 North American parks, including the transformation of Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari in New Jersey into one property, creating the largest regional theme park in the world.

“Innovation is part of our DNA” said Jim Reid-Anderson, chairman, president and chief executive officer. “On the heels of a tremendously well-received lineup of rides and attractions in 2012, we are taking our creativity to an even higher level by delivering an unprecedented season of jaw-dropping experiences that only Six Flags can deliver”.

SmurfsSony Pictures is teaming up with Six Flags to help launch one of its summer blockbuster films.  The highly anticipated movie, "The Smurfs®," will be promoted during Spring Break events at all domestic parks in conjunction with an in-store promotion debuting Smurf-branded merchandise at Hot Topic stores nationwide. "The Smurfs" will be released in theaters nationwide on August 3, 2011.

"Six Flags is thrilled to be working alongside Sony Pictures Entertainment again this season to innovatively showcase the film via our in-park media assets as well as execute a very unique experiential sweepstakes," said David McKillips, senior vice president, Corporate Alliances for Six Flags. "This campaign demonstrates our ability to strategically target specific demographics with a multi-medium, hands-on approach."

"After a successful pairing with Six Flags last summer on our worldwide hit film The Karate Kid, we're very pleased to reprise our relationship and add leading teen retailer, Hot Topic, to this creative, collaborative Spring Break promotion," said Gregory Economos, senior vice president, Global Consumer Products, Sony Pictures Entertainment.

GOTHAM CITY GAUNTLET ESCAPE FROM ARKHAM ASYLUMSix Flags New England, home to the largest collection of coasters in New England, announces the launch of Gotham City Gauntlet Escape from Arkham Asylum – adding another level of family thrills to the park's already incredible line up.

Six Flags New England's newest roller coaster will reside in the DC Super Hero Adventures section of the park, joining the top-rated Bizarro.

Adventure seeking guests are challenged to tap into their villainous side as they attempt to escape from Arkham Asylum; home of Gotham City's criminally insane. The ride experience begins as guests board the four person coaster cars and start a five-story climb towards the sky.  Once riders reach the top of the peak, their world is sent spinning and twirling through a maze of 17 hairpin turns, winding twists and turns and unexpected dips. Careening along 1,213 feet of track, this all-new coaster adventure delivers thrills to guests of all ages.
