Pangani Forest Exploration Trail
Explore a lush tropical forest inhabited by native African wildlife including gorillas, hippos and exotic birds. Exotic animals await your arrival amid a verdant landscape of jungle forest and sprawling savannah. Embark on a self-guided tour of the Pangani Forest Conservation School and Wildlife Sanctuary and experience up-close encounters with a variety of amazing creatures in their natural habitats. Meander along winding paths amid a lush garden getaway of African flora and fauna.

Visit the Endangered Animal Rehabilitation Center - home to swinging Colobus Monkeys - and view lizards, tarantulas, mice and snakes at the Animal Rehabilitation Center. Then, make your way inside a chirping outdoor aviary, where colorful birds dash and dive all around you. Spy a shy hippopotamus and a school of vibrant fish from the convenient confines of an underwater observation area. Spot an adorable Meerkat atop a rocky savannah perch before coming face to face with a troop of gentle western lowland gorillas slumbering upon a grassy hillside - just as curious to see you as you are to see them.

Wildlife Express Train
Steam ahead aboard the Wildlife Express Train for a peaceful 7-minute, 1.2-mile journey from the heart of Africa to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, a park area dedicated to the preservation and conservation of animals. Here you can get an up-close look at the inner workings of Disney's Animal Kingdom park and take part in fun-filled, educational activities that help create awareness of animal issues. Along the way, travel past several animal housing and veterinary facilities, where rhinos, elephants and other creatures that call the park home obtain the care they need. After your visit to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, board the Wildlife Express Train once again for the return 5-minute journey.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch is home to three animal encounters:

  • See cotton-top tamarin monkeys and learn how you can share your world with animals at the Habitat Habit outdoor discovery trail.
  • Through informative interactive exhibits and a viewable onsite research facility, Conservation Station invites you to uncover the mysteries of the wild. 
  • Affection Section is a petting zoo providing delightful hands-on encounters with a variety of animals, including goats and sheep.
