Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, development of Universal’s Epic Universe has been paused “until the future becomes more certain”.

Universal's Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort will be a new theme park with an entertainment center, hotels, shopping and restaurants.

The delay to the project was revealed during Comcast’s Q2 earnings call.

"Universal’s Epic Universe will offer an entirely new level of experiences that will forever redefine theme-park entertainment."

"Guests will venture beyond their wildest imagination, traveling into beloved stories and through vibrant lands on adventures where the journey is as astounding as the destination."

Universal's Epic Universe will be located on a new site 15 minutes from the existing resort area that includes Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure, Universal's Volcano Bay and CityWalk.
