Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has brought back its family-friendly Halloween event in 2023, Spooktacular.

Families can take part in trick-or-treating, a costume parade, festive photo opportunities and immersive meet-and-greets.

Busch Gardens’ Spooktacular takes place Saturday and Sundays from 12pm to 4pm, at the theme park’s Festival Walkway, located near the Iron Gwazi roller coaster.

We went along to the event on September 23, and really liked this decorated area of the park, which created a lovely atmosphere for families to celebrate the spooky season.

The event line-up includes:

Kandy’s World

Join Kandy as she shares her journey into becoming a real witch. Hear first-hand about the stories of this witch-in-training including how much she loves candy and even how she accidentally turned her friends into frogs.

Trick-Or-Treating

The Busch Gardens Spooktacular is the place to be for trick or treating. All guests who purchase a reusable bag from the park will be part of the super sweet fun.

Spooktacular Costume Parade

A colorful parade of costumes will bring the Spooktacular Costume Parade to life. On this one-of-a-kind catwalk, every kid gets their time to shine! Children 13 and younger are welcome to dress up in costumes.

Storytime

Situated next to Kandy’s picture-perfect pumpkin patch, guests will be immersed in the popular story “Room on the Broom,” where everybody has a place and everyone belongs.

Spooky Kooky Science

Professor Pufflemintz is the never predictable, anything is possible, sometimes puzzled but always positive, Professor of Science. Catch Professor Pufflemintz as she hosts Spooky Kooky Science during Spooktacular.

Sesame Street Kids' Weekends

Beginning Sept. 30, the park will welcome back Sesame Street Kids’ Weekends. Guests can stop by at the park’s Sesame Street Safari of Fun for a special limited-time Halloween show, meet-and-greets, scavenger hunt and dance party. In addition to each weekend, the event will also take place on October 30 and 31.

Although a smaller scale event, the Festival Walkway at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is nicely decorated and there are plenty of activities for families.
